My First Latin Learner is the first in a series of Four Books which aim to encourage Children who have basic reading skills (ages 5-9) to become adept in very basic language skills in Latin and Ancient Greek.
The four volumes are My First Latin Learner, My First Ancient Greek Learner, Latin Stories for Children and Ancient Greek Stories for Children.
In this first volume 'My First Latin Learner' children are taken through the letters of the Latin Alphabet and for each they are given five words in Latin which begin with the said Letter. Each is written in Latin with an English translation, and then followed by a phonetic pronunciation to enable children to reproduce the Latin sound as closely as possible.
This first volume aims to give children brief contact with an Illustrious ancient language, and to hopefully encourage them to learn more. It is also very useful as a way of increasing their fluency and literacy in English as a result.
